My Work
Self Project Work
Self Project Work
- Presentation isn't great as the colour renders feel too misplaced on the sheet.
- Shouldn't pose a character by attaching moved verts, should always rig and move.
- Would work as an cut scene model, but for in game on DS could case frame rate drop.
- Alpha on the frayed drapery on the leg is pretty pointless for in game purposes as it most likely wouldn't be seen on a small DS screen, possible in cut scenes though.
This is a clearly unfinished piece of work for my final project in Yr2.
- Terrible, rushed presentation ruins any artwork that could have been made from it.
- Not much description on texture sizes due to having no textures.
- Way too many tris for an unfinished Wii game model.
- Character not posed or textured.
- Atleast the character could be used as a placeholder in a blockout.
Quench (Real-Time) Work
- No tri count.
- Some of the screen shots look wierd due to the camera and perspective making them looks bent.
- Too many tris for a small, meant to be low poly.
Realism Environment Work
- Not enough time was spent on lighting the environment as it is one of the main factors that let it down in realism.
- The sky needed more work as it looks to bland and dull.
- Not enough work was put into drawing out the scene. e.g greenery, moss, dirt, cracked pavement.
- Presentation feels bland mainly due to the colours.
Industry Work
This is a piece of work created by Vadim Bakhlychev (a.k.a SlipGateCentral) which was created for Dominance War IV.
- Characters presented in poses and on designed bases to stand on. The backgrounds of the presentation sheets are interesting and draw your eye to the character.
- Made to current video game tri count specification. (PS3, Xbox360 and PC)
- Explanations show the depth and reason for each part of the design as it is very technical.
- Concepts show a clear idea flow of the artist.
- Would be good to have one presentation sheet with all this on or condensed down with the artists contact information.
Bad Work
Found on Turbo Squid one of the lowest rated models for $1, that an artist is selling.
- Incorrect anatomy which means it cant be used as a placeholder for block outs.
- Description gives polys not tris, and a messy wireframe render.
- Terrible textures.
- Boring and bland presentation.
